Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), previously called rational therapy and rational emotive therapy, is a comprehensive, active-directive, philosophically and empirically based psychotherapy which focuses on resolving emotional and behavioral problems and disturbances and enabling people to lead happier and more fulfilling lives. REBT was created and developed by the American psychotherapist and psychologist Albert Ellis who was inspired by many of the teachings of Asian, Greek, Roman and modern philosophers. REBT is one form of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and was first expounded by Ellis in the mid-1950s; development continued until his death in 2007.

La Terapia racional emotiva conductual, cuyo acrónimo es TREC (REBT, por sus siglas en inglés derivadas de Rational emotive behavior therapy), es una psicoterapia progresión de la Terapia racional y la Terapia racional-emotiva creadas, modificadas y ampliadas por el psicólogo estadounidense Albert Ellis desde el año 1955 hasta su muerte en 2007. Se enfoca en resolver problemas emocionales y conductuales mediante un modelo de intervención activo-directivo, filosófico y empírico, representado por la secuencia A-B-C, encaminado a la reestructuración cognitiva. Es frecuentemente comparada e incluso complementada con la Terapia cognitivo-conductual (TCC) creada por Aaron T. Beck, otro teórico importante de la terapia cognitiva.
